Bearcat Soccer Club is In-House program, a true recreational program.

It is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of soccer through a fun and positive environment. 

 

DISCLAIMER

Bearcat Soccer Clubs’ Recreational (In-House) and Rec+ (Travel) programs are outdoor sports and there may be practices and games that get canceled due to the weather and field conditions. This is beyond our control and our priority is the kid’s safety. Extending the season is unlikely due to school calendars, summer/winter vacations, weather and coordinating with other groups that have scheduled use of the parks with the town. No refunds will be given unless the season needs to be canceled.

 

Bearcat Soccer Club is a 100% volunteer organization from the Board Members to the Coaches. We need coaches for all age groups!!

SEASON DATES

The tentative season dates are below (weather permitting).

Starts: August 10th 2025, for Rec Plus (Travel)/ In-house August 9th 2025

Ends: October 18 2025,for Rec Plus (Travel) / In-house October 4th 2025

 

PLAYERS NEED TO PURCHASE

·        Shin guards (MUST be worn UNDER socks at every practice and game)

·        Soccer cleats (no toe cleat)

·        Age-appropriate size ball

·        Water bottle (please have your child bring a bottle to each practice and game)

Recreational  In House (Saturday League) cost U5 $80 U7 $100. Coaches will receive 50% discount for 1st child.

 Rec Plus (Travel) Information
The Rec-Plus Travel Soccer League is a competitive soccer league focused on fostering teamwork, good sportsmanship, and skill development, as well as knowledge of field play and the game of soccer. The league operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with no tryouts necessary. When a division reaches capacity, additional players will be waitlisted until another coach is secured, at which point a second team will be formed. In cases where two teams are needed for a division, an upper and lower team will be established. We are governed by SAY Soccer through NWISL and rely on volunteer coaches and assistant coaches. Please be aware that requests for specific coaches cannot be accommodated, and all registrations are non-refundable. This season, each player will receive a new jersey, while head coaches will receive a 50% discount for their first child, and assistant coaches will receive a $50 discount for their first child. Registration will take place from May 7th to July 2nd, with team declarations due by July 8th. The season is currently scheduled to run from August 9th to October 25th.

All teams will have 4- home games and 4- away games. Games are played throughout northwest Indiana, common places are Portage, Duneland, Chesterton, Valparaiso, Morgan Township, LOFS, Highland, Griffith, Hobart, Crown Point, Schererville, La Porte, Dyer. U8 division is a 6v6 format including a goalkeeper. Kids will be trained to play in different positions including the goalkeeper.

 

U10 division is a 7v7 format including a goalkeeper. Kids will be trained in the different positions on the team. The field and goal sizes are increased.

 

U12 division is a 9v9 format including a goalkeeper. Kids will be trained in the different positions on the team and learn tactics.

 

U14 division is a 11v11 format including a goalkeeper. Kids will be trained in the different positions on the team and learn tactics.

Rec-Plus Travel Cost is $200 Jersey, socks, shorts

 

SPECIAL REQUESTS/Player/Parent Conduct

The club is not taking special requests. There are no guarantees for which teammates, coach, or practice days you will get. Bearcat Soccer Club has a zero Tolerance Policy. Any player that receives a red card will have 2-game suspension. A parent who receives a red card or gets thrown out of a game will be asked not to return for the season. NO Refunds will be issued.
