Player & Parent Conduct Policy**

Introduction

The Bearcat Soccer Club is committed to providing a positive, safe, and supportive environment for all players, parents, coaches, referees, and staff. This Conduct Policy outlines the expectations for behavior and responsibilities of both players and parents. Bearcat Soccer Club has a zero‑tolerance policy for harassment, slander, racism, and bullying.

Player Conduct

1. Respect for Teammates and Coaches

Players must show respect and sportsmanship toward teammates, coaches, opponents, and referees at all times. This includes:

  • Listening to coaches’ instructions

  • Encouraging fellow players

  • Avoiding any form of bullying, harassment, or disrespect

2. Attendance and Punctuality

Players are expected to attend all practices and games unless excused by a coach. Arriving on time shows commitment and ensures proper preparation.

3. Adherence to Club Rules & Dress Code

Players must follow all club rules, including wearing the appropriate uniform and equipment:

  • Shin guards and cleats are mandatory

  • No jewelry may be worn during practices or games (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches)

4. Focus on Skill Development & Teamwork

Players should work to improve their individual skills while contributing to the overall success, unity, and sportsmanship of the team.

5. Positive Attitude & Effort

Players are expected to maintain a positive attitude, give their best effort, and be open to constructive feedback.

Parent Conduct

1. Supportive & Encouraging Behavior

Parents are expected to support all players, coaches, and referees. The following behaviors are prohibited:

  • Negative comments

  • Disrespect

  • Foul language

  • Hostility toward players, coaches, or officials

Violations may result in ejection from the game and possible removal from the program at the club’s discretion.

2. Respect for Coaches & Officials

Parents must respect the decisions of coaches and referees.

  • No parent may interact with officials at any time during the game.

  • Parents must remain in the designated spectator area.

  • Parents are not permitted on the team bench at any time.

3. Communication & Involvement

Parents are encouraged to communicate with coaches regarding their child’s progress or concerns. If questions arise during a game, they should be addressed at the next practice, not during play.

4. Sportsmanship & Role Modeling

Parents must demonstrate sportsmanship and serve as positive role models. Bearcat Soccer Club reserves the right to bar or remove any person who does not comply with club or NWISL rules and regulations.

5. Adherence to Club Policies

Parents must follow all club policies, including those related to attendance, fees, and conduct. Compliance ensures smooth club operations and a positive experience for all families. Bearcat Soccer Club will not issue any refunds.

Conclusion

The Bearcat Soccer Club strives to foster respect, teamwork, and personal growth. By following this Conduct Policy, players and parents help create a safe, enjoyable, and successful environment for everyone involved. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to our Bearcat community.
